Our Story
Hello!
I'm Stephanie, founder of samac ceramics. Ceramics holds a very special place in my heart, and I can't wait to share my work with the world.
I would not be on this journey without the support of my incredibly handsome husband, who encouraged me to buy my first wheel, helps bring my endless studio ideas to life, and somehow always finds himself moving a kiln in and out of the garage.
And of course, no studio introduction would be complete without my five completely useless but undeniably adorable assistants: Snugget, Shadow, Stanley, Levy, and Odie. While they have yet to master throwing pottery, they excel at napping, supervising, and reminding me to take breaks.
Thank you for being here and for supporting handmade work. I'm so glad our paths crossed.
The world can be a noisy place.
There is always another notification, another headline, another worry. It can feel like we are constantly moving, constantly anxious, constantly thinking about what comes next.
For me, clay makes the world quiet.
When I sit down at the wheel or settle into the rhythm of carving patterns into a freshly formed piece, the noise fades away. My attention narrows to what is right in front of me. The shape of the clay. The movement of my hands. The colors and patterns slowly coming to life.
It is one of the few places where I find real peace, and it's such a gift.
